Biot ~ Fernand Leger

What caught my eye and interest in visiting Biot was that it has a fascinating history and there are traces testifying to prehistoric time. It is noted that the Ligurians populated this area for a long period of time, which caused conflict with the inhabitants of the town of Antipolis/Antibes, who demanded help from Rome. The Romans fought the Ligurians and settled in Biot in 154 BC, which they settled and occupied for five centuries. It also had a notorious period in the 1200s and 1300s when it was taken over by the Knights Templar, pirates, rogues and thieves after it survived the Black Plague and the War of Succession of Queen Jeanne of Provence had decimated the law-abiding population.

Biot is associated with a number of well known artists. The works of the great humanist and painter Fernand Léger can be seen at the National Museum Of Fernand Léger. I want to share with you this wonderful museum and town.. you enjoy. Bisou Bisou.
